Cost Controller

For an international group with operations across multiple European countries, we are currently looking for an experienced Cost Controller to join the finance team. This role offers a high level of responsibility, international exposure, and close collaboration with senior finance and operational stakeholders.

Your responsibilities

• Take ownership of OPEX and CAPEX controlling across multiple operational assets and projects in an international environment
• Lead and coordinate cost controlling activities across regions, ensuring consistent planning, tracking and reporting standards
• Act as a key finance partner to operational and project teams, providing transparency on cost performance and budget adherence
• Prepare and analyse monthly cost centre and project reports, including variance analysis and management commentary
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment between local units and group requirements
• Develop, monitor and enhance KPIs to assess cost efficiency, investment performance and financial discipline
• Support investment governance by reviewing business cases and tracking project spending against approved budgets
• Ensure high-quality consolidated reporting at group level, including data validation, structural consistency and reconciliation

Your profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling or a related field
• Several years of experience in Cost Controlling, Project Controlling or a similar finance role
• Strong hands-on experience with OPEX and CAPEX controlling in an asset-intensive, industrial or energy-related environment
• Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and management reporting
• Experience working in an international, multi-entity or matrix organisation
• Confident communicator with a structured, analytical and hands-on approach
• Fluency in English is required; German is a strong advantage
