A global sporting body with a large presence in Geneva, is now seeking to expand its legal team with a Legal Counsel (m/f) focusing on Regulatory & Integrity topics of the organisation. An experienced lawyer in sports you will specifically bring a sports law background and will focus on the exercise of regulatory and disciplinary powers in motorsport.
(Senior) Legal Counsel - Sports (m/f)
An experienced sports lawyer, you will take a key role in the organisation's disciplinary powers and excise of these, as well as representing the body in international courts and before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Exercise of the organisation's sporting regulatory power; this includes but is not limited to working with regulations and proposals to these, implementation of provisions and the drafting of submissions before the international court of appeal
- Managing the disciplinary powers of the organisation and enforcing decisions
- Exercise of the organisation's anti-doping disciplinary power
Above all you will bring a profound knowledge of, and desire to work in sports. Bringing a sports/arbitration background, key to your success in this role will be your knowledge of disciplinary topics in sports as well as some anti-doping experience
Minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar post (preferably within a sports federation)
Excellent aptitudes for communication and presentation combined with refined editorial skills
Experience of working in an international environment
Ability to work well under pressure, to respect deadlines and to assume responsibilities; with a flexible approach to your work and an understanding of the variable working hours around championships in motorsport
Experience in sports law/ arbitration with anti-doping knowledge
An excellent command of English and French, both written and spoken, is essential
