For our client, a bank specialized in commodity trade finance, we are looking for a Trade Finance Specialist, to join their team, based in Zurich.
Our client is a well-established bank, specialized in commodity trade finance. Their business is so successful that they now need to add a team member, to work in the foreign exchange payments team. The bank has one of the most developed IT systems in place, and it has a family environment, where colleagues collaborate as a team, towards the same goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Efficient Processing of Export Letters of Credit: Meticulously handle the confirmation, unconfirmation, and amendment processes for new export letters of credit, serving international exporters, including prominent corporations and renowned traders worldwide;
Document Evaluation (incl. due diligence if the transaction): Professionally Check, assess and evaluate the letter of credit (L/C) documents submitted to our bank by the aforementioned exporters and international banks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with requirements for negotiation;
Document Collection Management: Execute flawless processing of document collection transactions as part of routine operations;
Expert Guidance: Provide comprehensive guidance and advice to beneficiaries of documentary credits and external entities, effectively communicating in three languages: French, English, and German, via telephone and written correspondence;
Interdepartmental Collaboration: Foster close collaboration with experts from various departments, including Risk & Compliance, FOREX, Money-Market, payment traffic, and accounting, to ensure seamless coordination of trade finance operations;
Payment Due Date Monitoring: Oversee and manage payment due dates for transactions under documentary credits and documentary collections, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
About the candidate
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar function;
Fluency in French is a must. Any other language is a plus;
