Accounting Team Lead

About the Company Our client is an international industrial technology company. The business is currently going through an exciting phase of development and process improvement, offering the opportunity to actively contribute to the evolution of the finance function.

To strengthen the accounting department at its Swiss headquarters, we are looking for a hands-on Accounting Team Lead who combines strong operational accounting expertise with the ability to support, guide and develop a small team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying close to day-to-day accounting operations while also driving improvements, optimizing processes and acting as a trusted partner within the business.


Your Responsibilities


  • Lead, support and further develop a small accounting team of six employees
  • Remain actively involved in operational accounting activities and support the team in daily accounting matters
  • Ensure accurate monthly and annual closings in accordance with Swiss statutory accounting standards (OR)
  • Take ownership of Swiss and international VAT topics, including compliance, reconciliations and reporting
  • Support tax-related matters and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as a key contact person for auditors and ensure smooth audit processes
  • Work closely with other departments to maintain efficient financial operations across the business
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, controls and end-to-end finance processes
  • Contribute to ERP enhancements, SAP-related improvements and digitalization initiatives
  • Help drive change and continuous improvement within a dynamic and evolving finance environment



Your Profile


  • Higher education in Finance and Accounting (e.g. Swiss federal diploma in Finance & Accounting or equivalent)
  • Several years of hands-on accounting experience within an international and/or industrial environment
  • Strong operational accounting knowledge with the willingness to stay involved in daily activities
  • Initial leadership or team coordination experience with a pragmatic and supportive management style
  • Solid knowledge of Swiss accounting standards (OR), VAT and general tax topics
  • Experience working with SAP ERP systems; exposure to S/4HANA is considered an advantage
  • Structured, reliable and resilient personality with a hands-on mindset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a changing and fast-paced environment
  • Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
