Senior Financial Accountant

For our client, a well-established Swiss company with international operations, we are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to strengthen the finance team. The role offers broad responsibility across general ledger accounting, financial closing and reporting, with the opportunity to contribute to ongoing finance and process improvements.

Your responsibilities

• Independently manage the general ledger accounting for several legal entities
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings in accordance with Swiss GAAP / Swiss Code of Obligations (OR) and IFRS
• Handle Swiss VAT-related activities and filings
• Support financial reporting and analyse accounting and financial data
• Contribute to finance projects, process improvements and other ad-hoc topics
• Act as a reliable deputy within the accounting team and support colleagues when required
• Work closely with internal stakeholders in an international environment

Your profile

• Completed Swiss Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Finance and Accounting (Fachausweis) or an equivalent qualification
• At least 5 years of professional experience in accounting, with strong exposure to general ledger activities
• Proven ability to independently manage GL accounting
• Very strong SAP S/4HANA knowledge
• Experience with Swiss accounting and financial closing; exposure to IFRS is an advantage
• Good understanding of Swiss VAT
• Fluent in German and English
• Structured, analytical and reliable working style
• Strong attention to detail combined with a hands-on approach
• Interest in improving processes and working on finance-related projects
