Finance & Controlling Specialist

Our client is a well-established industrial company with an international group structure and around 200 employees in Switzerland. As part of the continued development of its finance function, we are looking for a Finance & Controlling Specialist to join a young and collaborative team in Solothurn.

This is a broad role offering exposure to both accounting and controlling, with the opportunity to work closely with the business and take on increasing responsibility over time.

Your Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes and contribute to group reporting
• Prepare and analyse financial information for the business and support regular reporting activities
• Assist with project evaluations, accruals and period-end adjustments
• Support the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts
• Prepare Swiss and German VAT declarations
• Contribute to the preparation and analysis of key financial and operational KPIs
• Perform ad hoc analyses and provide financial insights to internal stakeholders
• Support the finance team across a range of accounting and controlling topics
• Work with financial data under Swiss GAAP / Swiss Code of Obligations (OR), with exposure to group reporting under IFRS

What You Bring

• Around 2–3 years of professional experience in accounting, controlling or a combination of both
• Commercial education with further studies in finance/business administration, or a relevant Bachelor’s degree
• First practical experience in controlling and/or financial accounting
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and confidence working with financial data; experience with SAP is an advantage
• Fluent German and good English skills; French would be considered a strong asset.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities with a structured and precise approach to your work
• A proactive mindset and the ability to work independently while remaining a strong team player
• Motivation to broaden your finance expertise and develop professionally within a growing finance function
