Legal Counsel – Broad In-house Role | Zurich

Save job

For a well-established, privately owned Swiss group, we are looking for a versatile and business-minded Legal Counsel to join a lean and collaborative Legal team. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will take ownership of a broad range of legal matters, including complex commercial contracts and strategic business projects, while working closely with stakeholders across a diverse organisation. This is an ideal opportunity for a legal generalist who enjoys variety, autonomy and being close to the business.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice across the organisation.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of agreements, including complex commercial contracts.
  • Advise on varied matters across corporate, real estate, leasing, insurance, finance and marketing.
  • Support the General Counsel on strategic projects and complex legal matters.
  • Advise on data protection and privacy matters as part of the broader Legal remit.
  • Contribute to improving Legal processes, templates and ways of working, including Legal Tech and AI solutions.

Your profile

  • Swiss law degree and approximately 4–7 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Swiss Bar admission strongly preferred.
  • Experience gained both in a reputable law firm and an in-house corporate environment.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills with experience in complex commercial agreements.
  • Broad legal expertise and confidence handling matters independently.
  • Pragmatic, hands-on and commercially minded, with strong stakeholder skills.
  • Interest in data protection, Legal Tech, AI and process optimisation.
  • Fluent German and English; additional languages are an advantage.

The opportunity

You will join an established, family-owned organisation offering a genuinely broad in-house legal environment, significant autonomy and direct exposure to senior stakeholders.

Working closely with the General Counsel, you will have the opportunity to combine high-quality legal work with strategic projects and contribute to the continued development of the Legal function.
