National Sales Manager - Tourism / Leisure

Save job

Interested in taking on a national role in a dynamic tourism environment? We would be pleased to hear from you.

Our client is an established tourism business broker seeking a commercially minded professional to grow its network across Switzerland. In this field-based role, you will build productive relationships with travel distribution partners, translate regional market needs into practical sales plans and help partner teams turn customer interest into bookings.

The role

You will take ownership of partner performance throughout French-speaking Switzerland, German-speaking Switzerland and Ticino. Working with internal colleagues and external stakeholders, you will shape local activity around national priorities, identify new sources of revenue and keep a clear view of results across your territory.

What you will do

Grow partner revenue

  • Own a portfolio of travel agencies and other distribution partners across all Swiss language regions, developing existing accounts while opening new relationships.
  • Assess account potential and market conditions, then set priorities and tailor growth plans to each partner and region.
  • Agree commercial objectives and review sales, volume, margin and contribution indicators with partners.
  • Plan local and national promotional activity, negotiate partner initiatives and evaluate their business impact.
  • Build an effective schedule of partner visits and prospecting, taking regional business and cultural differences into account.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline forecasts, share clear performance updates and propose timely actions when results fall short.
  • Serve as a trusted contact for senior partner stakeholders and distribution decision-makers.

Equip and engage the network

  • Help partner sales teams understand the offer, sales resources, booking processes and customer proposition.
  • Deliver partner learning and engagement in French, German and English through workshops, online sessions, roadshows and familiarisation visits.
  • Adapt sales communications to local audiences in collaboration with marketing and operational teams.
  • Support complex or high-potential opportunities and help partners provide a smooth experience from enquiry through booking.

What you bring

  • Professional fluency in French, German and English. Swiss German and Italian are advantageous.
  • Experience in field sales, account management or business development in Switzerland, with evidence of growing a partner portfolio.
  • A good understanding of tourism and travel distribution, together with an appreciation of Switzerland’s regional markets.
  • Confidence using commercial data, performance indicators, CRM and reporting tools; curiosity about practical uses of AI-enabled tools.
  • Sound negotiation and prospecting skills, strong communication and the confidence to present to groups.
  • A collaborative, self-directed approach, careful follow-through and the ability to build trust across cultures.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout Switzerland.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in business, tourism, hospitality or a related discipline.
