Chief Data Officer

A high-impact Chief Data Officer opportunity has become available within an international organization undergoing a multi-year data, analytics, and AI transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enterprise Data Strategy: Own and evolve the data strategy so that data is trusted, secure, and used as a strategic asset to drive value, innovation, and better decisions.
• Governance & Compliance: Establish governance, stewardship, quality, and AI governance frameworks that meet regulatory, privacy, security, and industry requirements.
• Leadership & Operating Model: Lead multiple data teams (architecture, engineering, analytics, data science, MDM, metadata, quality, operations); define the operating model and ways of working.
• Hands-On Data Leadership: Stay engaged in key data architecture choices, governance design, platform direction, and critical delivery moments; solve hard problems with the team.
• Central Data Capabilities: Oversee enterprise data platforms, pipelines, warehouses/lakes, integration services, reporting, BI, and advanced analytics at scale.
• Industry & Executive Engagement: Partner closely with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Technology, and Business leaders; represent data at senior level and in external forums and strategic partnerships.

Profile:

• Background: 15+ years across data disciplines, with a strong record of running an enterprise-wide data function and multiple teams in regulated or complex environments.
• Leadership Style: Builds capable, accountable leaders; fosters a high-performance, collaborative culture while remaining visible and supportive.
• Hands-On Credibility: Still reviews architectures, governance models, and key designs; seen as a practicing data leader, not just an executive.
• Regulatory Depth: Deep understanding of data governance, compliance, privacy, and security; balances control with speed and business agility.
• Business & Commercial Acumen: Links data work to business outcomes; experienced in managing budgets, vendors, and strategic partnerships; strong executive stakeholder management.
• Mindset: Continuous learner; pragmatic about AI and new technologies; focused on trusted data that enables real business impact.
• Fluent English.
