Network & Telco Operations Engineer

A high-impact engineering opportunity is available with an international technology company operating a mission-critical platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network engineering & operations: Design, operate, and troubleshoot Cisco-based networks (routers, switches, VLANs, TCP/IP).
  • Routing & connectivity: Configure and maintain BGP, OSPF, internet edge, IP addressing, and partner connections.
  • Network security: Administer Palo Alto (or similar) firewalls, policies, NAT, segmentation, and VPN tunnels.
  • Telco & messaging operations: Support SMPP and SS7/Sigtran connectivity, basic SMSC/STP concepts, and protocol-level troubleshooting with carriers and partners.
  • Monitoring & incident handling: Use packet captures (e.g., Wireshark) and monitoring tools to investigate latency, packet loss, routing, and signaling issues.
  • Data center & rack work: Participate in on-site network设备安装, cabling, patching, and hardware health checks in colocation facilities.
  • Vendor & partner coordination: Work with carriers, telco providers, and colocation vendors on circuits, incidents, and changes.

Profile:

  • Must have:
    • Strong production experience with Cisco routers/switches and enterprise networking (VLANs, routing, TCP/IP).
    • Hands-on with firewalls (Palo Alto or comparable), VPNs, and network security basics.
    • Solid understanding of BGP/OSPF and internet edge connectivity.
    • Comfortable with on-site rack work, cabling, and working in telehouses/colocation sites.
  • Should have:
    • Practical troubleshooting skills using packet captures and monitoring tools.
    • Basic Linux knowledge and familiarity with virtualization concepts (Proxmox/VMware).
    • Understanding of DNS, DHCP, NTP, and general network services.
    • Experience documenting network designs and changes in a structured way.
  • Optional (nice to have):
    • Exposure to telco protocols and services: SMPP, SS7/Sigtran, SCTP, M3UA, SMSC/STP, SMS/OTP services.
    • Experience cooperating with external carriers, suppliers, and service providers.
    • Scripting in Bash, PowerShell, or Python for network automation or reporting.
    • Basic Microsoft 365/Entra/Intune and office infrastructure support.
  • Fluent English is required; German is a strong advantage.
