Executive Coaching

Fully customised coaching that empowers executives to make a lasting impact and fuel long-term organisational success, powered by strategic insight from career experts.

Professional and personal growth for executives

Our highly experienced coaches facilitate self-discovery to give senior leaders greater certainty, self-assurance, and strategic clarity. Our coaches support executives to establish a professional development plan and/or strategic plan for their own improvement, as well as the improvement of their people and firm.

At Robert Walters, each coaching programme is unique. We carefully select coaches to support executives at all levels of their career, regardless of their organisational circumstances or personal aspirations.

How can we help you with executive coaching?

Our coaches facilitate self-discovery for executives, so that each executive uncovers their own solutions and decisions. The executive coach does not have a predetermined outcome in mind. Rather, they enable the executive to generate options, confidently make decisions, and develop themselves along the way.

Greater confidence and fresh perspectives

Our coaches provide insight based on years of experience and frameworks supported by academic validity, as well as coaching that’s informed by previous experience of what has worked for other executives.

Mitigate risk

All executives need support, but companies spend less time focusing on the development needs of their top senior leaders which is risky for the firm and its people.

Our experienced coaches mitigate risks associated with underdeveloped or under-supported leaders with tailored, continued learning to maximise the prospects of success.

Targeted outcomes

We know an executive’s time is precious, so our coaching focuses on the areas of maximum impact. Our coaching is developed around clear action plans, moulded around each executive’s personal and professional goals to culminate in clear objectives and recommendations they can apply in the working world.

Proven coaches

We handpick coaches from our bench   of certified and experienced experts who each have a proven track record in helping executives to achieve results. Our coaches have worked in a wide range of sectors across multiple countries and global business hubs.

Ideal for all leadership stages and styles

Our executive coaching is ideal for any leader who wants to be their best selves. From newly minted CEOs to established leaders, to those preparing for succession/exit, our coaches help leaders navigate challenges, reduce uncertainty, and refine decision-making.

Great leaders never stop learning

Many executives don’t have easily accessible training within their day-to-day as companies tend to focus training on junior management or grassroots employees. Our executive coaching provides a personalised path of professional development.

While our programme is focused on guiding and supporting executives, it also allows organisations to showcase their commitment to investing in leadership development through tailored programmes meant to bring out the best in their people. To the rest of their employees, this demonstrates a culture of learning – often attractive for top talent at all levels.

FAQs

  • Who are your executive coaches?

Our coaches come from a variety of fields and international locations, but what unites them all is Robert Walters and our commitment to excellence. Their ability to create and execute action-oriented plans, tailored to each executive they collaborate with is what sets our coaches apart in the industry.

Many of our coaches are certified (e.g. International Coaching Federation) and all of them are highly experienced in coaching. Some are former c-suite leaders, others are specialists in leadership strategy, theory and practice.
  • How do you select the right coach for each executive?

Before we propose any individual coach, we listen carefully to clarify your circumstances and ambitions. This allows our Talent Development team to better understand your needs and goals to pair you with an executive coach to not only help you meet those goals but deliver on them in your organisation. Above all, our priority is to connect an executive with the coach who can offer fresh perspectives and best unlock that individual’s self-discovery.

Our coaches do not have a predetermined outcome in mind but are willing to work with you through the coaching journey while providing expert advice.
  • How long is the coaching programme?

Coaching is flexible and is always designed to meet your objectives and specifications. However, a typical coaching program might include 6-8 coaching sessions of 60-90 minutes each, delivered over a 4–6-month period.

Frequently, coaching relationships are so effective that organisations and executives opt to renew them beyond the initial period. Irrespective of the duration, the action plans and professional development continue to deliver a sustained return on investment that lasts years, resulting in measurable ROI for the individual and organisation.
  • Can your executive coaching services be tailored to organisational goals?

Absolutely. Our specialist executive coaching services are designed to align closely with your organisation’s strategic priorities and performance objectives. We begin by working you to understand your business goals, leadership challenges, and cultural context. From there, each coaching engagement is tailored to support outcomes such as driving transformation, strengthening leadership capability, improving succession readiness, or something as simple as helping you enhance your influence among your people.

Coaching goals are clearly defined at the outset and, where appropriate, aligned with organisational KPIs to ensure relevance and impact. This approach ensures individual development directly supports wider business objectives, delivering measurable value for both the leader and the organisation. Although we recommend at least 4-6 sessions, coaching can be ongoing and you are always welcome to return for additional sessions should business objectives change over time.

  • Is there a minimum level of experience required to sign up for executive coaching?

There is no fixed number of years of experience required to sign up for executive coaching. Executive coaching is designed for individuals who hold leadership responsibility or are preparing to step into more senior roles. This may include first-time leaders, experienced executives, or high-potential professionals navigating increased complexity, scale, or visibility. What matters most is not tenure, but readiness, such as a desire to develop leadership capability, manage change more effectively, or align personal impact with organisational goals. Coaching is tailored to the individual’s context, ensuring it remains relevant whether someone has five years’ experience or twenty.

This is why our coaching panel is made up of a range of certified coaches with varying years of experience to ensure they are able to provide you with the most relevant advice and recommendations.
