Trade Finance Lawyer

Our client is seeking a Commodities Trade Finance Lawyer to join a top-ranked legal team in Geneva, handling complex cross-border matters at the centre of global trade.

Your responsibilities:

• Advise on complex, cross-border commodities trade finance transactions and draft, review, and negotiate related agreements.
• Work closely with colleagues and clients to deliver tailored, compliant, and innovative financing solutions, including sustainability-linked finance.
• Manage multiple matters efficiently, maintain strong internal and external relationships, and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.
• Stay up to date with international trade and banking regulatory developments to ensure accurate, current advice

Your qualifications:

• Admission as a solicitor in England & Wales or another common law jurisdiction is essential
• At least 3 years’ PQE in trade finance or banking & finance from a leading City firm or equivalent is required
• Fluent English is a must; additional languages (French, German, Italian) are a plus
• Strong drafting and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with international clients
• A keen interest in international trade, banking law, and commodities finance is important
• Creative thinking and a proactive approach to deal structuring and problem-solving are valued
• Commitment to excellent client service and a strong understanding of commercial context is key
