Senior Accountant

Are you an experienced accounting professional looking to take the next step in a dynamic, international environment? Our client, a leading organization within the transport and mobility sector, is looking for a Senior Accountant to strengthen their finance team in Basel. In this role, you will take ownership of key accounting activities and contribute to the financial integrity of the business:

Your responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial accounting, including general ledger, sub-ledgers, and fixed assets
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with Swiss regulations (CO) and/or Swiss GAAP FER
• Conduct variance analyses (budget vs. actuals) and provide meaningful insights
• Support tax-related processes and filings
• Act as a key contact for external auditors and assist during audits
• Produce ad hoc financial reports and analyses for management
• Oversee and support payment processes
  
  

Your profile

• Completed commercial training (EFZ) or equivalent qualification
• Further education in accounting/finance (e.g., Fachausweis or in progress)
• Several years of experience in financial accounting, ideally in a senior or autonomous role
• Solid knowledge of Swiss accounting standards (CO, Swiss GAAP FER, IFRS is a plus)
• Comfortable working with auditors and external stakeholders
• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently
• Strong analytical mindset and structured approach
• Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar) is advantageous
