Country Head CH – Custom Software & Business Development

A senior leadership role to lead a Swiss custom software engineering services business, with a clear mandate to drive new customer acquisition, strengthen commercial performance and shape the next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Leadership & Performance: Assume end-to-end responsibility for the Swiss entity, including revenue growth through new client wins, profitability, and strategic positioning in the local market. Define a clear growth plan focused on customer acquisition, monitor key performance indicators, and implement targeted actions to improve commercial results and delivery economics.
  • Market & Growth Strategy: Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for custom software engineering services prioritizing new Swiss enterprise client acquisition. Identify and pursue high-potential target sectors and accounts, building a pipeline that increasingly reflects higher-value bespoke software projects from fresh relationships.
  • Project & Solution Orientation: Drive a solution-driven, full-cycle custom software project model prioritizing high-value solutions over staffing engagements.
  • P&L Responsibility & Leadership of Swiss Organization: Set direction and expectations for the Swiss leadership team and senior engineers, creating alignment around commercial goals, especially new business development. Strengthen collaboration between sales, engineering and delivery, and build a culture that balances client impact, technical excellence and accountability. Full P&L responsibility across Swiss offices (German-speaking region).
  • Stakeholder Management & Governance: Act as primary counterpart for group-level leadership on Swiss performance, strategy and risk topics. Represent the Swiss business, positioning the firm as a trusted, engineering-driven custom software partner capable of attracting new enterprise relationships.

Profile:

  • Senior Services Leader in Switzerland: Substantial experience (10+ years) in custom software engineering services in Switzerland, ideally in a mid-sized or international Software Engineering consultancy. Clear evidence of driving growth through new customer acquisition in bespoke software project- and solution-based business.
  • Commercially Strong, Client-Facing: Recognised ability to originate, pitch and secure complex custom software engineering projects with new Swiss clients, working closely with expert engineering teams on scope, value and pricing. Comfortable leading high-stakes client discussions at C-level and representing the firm in the market to bring in fresh business.
  • P&L and Organizational Responsibility: Proven track record running a country organisation, business unit or industry vertical with full or substantial P&L responsibility. Experienced in managing margins, utilisation and pricing, and in making disciplined investment and resourcing decisions to support growth.
  • Technology & Engineering Literacy: Solid understanding of custom software engineering and adjacent domains such as cloud, data/AI and security, enabling effective collaboration with architects and delivery leads.
  • Change-Oriented, Resilient Leader: Experience leading organisations through phases of change or repositioning, combining clarity of direction with transparent communication and a pragmatic, hands-on style.
  • Background & Personal Style: Stable, credible career path in Swiss-focused custom software engineering services, with German and English fluency. Motivated by the opportunity to take a visible, accountable leadership role in a mid-sized, engineering-driven organisation.
