(Senior) Manager, Market Intelligence – Freight
A high-impact, strategy-focused Manager, Market Intelligence role has become available in an international freight business, offering the opportunity to shape strategic and investment decisions across a complex network.
Key responsibilities:
- Own and maintain the central market intelligence and research function for a freight/cargo business.
- Build and enhance the integrated demand/supply market model, including key assumptions on macro trends, demand, supply, utilization, pricing, and sub-segment dynamics.
- Monitor market developments across end markets, geographies, and fleet segments, including industrial activity, supply chain shifts, new builds, scrapping, OEM capacity, leasing activity, and competitor fleets.
- Translate macroeconomic and industry developments into clear implications for demand, pricing, and fleet strategy.
- Consolidate input from internal experts and external market sources, reconcile differing views, and update market assumptions accordingly.
- Provide market-grounded analysis to support CAPEX decisions, replacement planning, modifications, redeployment, and scrapping.
- Deliver clear, decision-oriented insights and forecasts for senior stakeholders across finance, sales, procurement, asset management, and projects.
- Ensure market intelligence outputs are relevant, well-structured, and actively used in strategic and operational decision-making.
Profile:
- Master’s degree in economics, business, statistics, finance, data science, or a related analytical field.
- At least 5 years of experience in economic research, market intelligence, strategic consulting, industry analysis, or a comparable role in an international company.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including forecasting, statistical analysis, and handling fragmented data sets.
- Excellent ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise, and compelling narratives.
- Strong command of data modeling and presentation tools; experience with Python or other languages is a plus.
- Structured, accurate, and comfortable working with ambiguity and incomplete information.
- Strong prioritization skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset with credibility in senior stakeholder environments.
- Full professional proficiency in English; German is a plus.
