Quality Manager - Industrial Manufacturing

An established industrial manufacturing company in the La Chaux-de-Fonds region is looking for an experienced Quality Manager to take ownership of its Quality Management System. This key succession hire will oversee ISO 9001 and AS/EN 9100 compliance, drive continuous improvement and work closely with production and technical teams across a variety of manufacturing technologies.

Robert Walters is supporting an established industrial manufacturing company in the La Chaux-de-Fonds region with the appointment of an experienced Quality Manager.

Quality is a central function within the organisation, and this position will take responsibility for the continued development and performance of the company’s Quality Management System.

The role forms part of a planned succession. The current Quality Manager will remain with the company during a structured handover period, allowing the successful candidate to gain an in-depth understanding of the organisation, its products and its manufacturing technologies.

Your responsibilities

• Lead, maintain and continuously develop the existing Quality Management System.
• Define quality criteria and ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Guarantee compliance with the quality standards currently in place, particularly ISO 9001 and AS/EN 9100.
• Ensure appropriate application of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
• Promote and drive a strong culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the company’s different manufacturing processes and technologies.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Methods and Workshop teams to define and implement appropriate inspection methods, controls and procedures.
• Analyse and monitor the performance of the Quality Management System and product quality.
• Communicate quality performance and key indicators to relevant internal stakeholders.
• Lead the investigation and resolution of significant non-conformities.
• Exercise the necessary managerial authority to suspend activities or material flows in the event of a major non-conformity.
• Support the organisation in resolving technical quality issues involving both mechanical and chemical manufacturing processes.

Your profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience within Quality, ideally gained in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience successfully implementing, managing or significantly developing Quality Management Systems.
• TQ3 qualification or equivalent.
• Proven knowledge of ISO 9001, AS/EN 9100, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing processes.
• Ability to understand and analyse issues relating to both mechanical and chemical engineering.
• Experience working closely with production, engineering and operational teams.
• Fluent English.
• Knowledge of German would be a significant advantage.
• Strong command of standard IT applications and database-management tools.
• Analytical and pragmatic approach with the ability to work across different technical disciplines and departments.
• Strong team spirit, open communication style and focus on the overall performance of the organisation.
• Ability to challenge constructively and make decisive quality-related decisions when required.
