Interim COO - Wealth Management Operations
We are seeking an experienced Interim COO to lead Swiss wealth management operations during a critical 6–8-month transition. This Zurich-based role requires a proven interim professional with expertise in managing complex projects, ensuring operational continuity, and delivering results under pressure. Ideal for a hands-on, results-driven expert operating through their own Swiss company, ready to provide immediate impact in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on leadership and oversight of Swiss wealth management operations, ensuring seamless service delivery and operational excellence during the transition period.
- Manage first-line controls, formality checks, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FINMA).
- Lead and support a team of experienced professionals across middle office and operational functions, fostering collaboration and maintaining high performance.
- Ensure continuity by addressing risks proactively and maintaining high standards of execution throughout the mandate.
- Support the implementation of global operational initiatives, ensuring alignment with local Swiss requirements.
- Act as a key point of contact for senior leadership, including the CEO Europe & Middle East Wealth Management and Global COO Wealth Management.
- Deliver immediate results by rolling up your sleeves, navigating ambiguity, and driving progress from day one.
About You:
- Proven interim experience: You must have a strong track record as an interim manager or contractor, operating through your own company (in Switzerland) and delivering results in short-term mandates.
- Immediate availability: Ability to start within 2–4 weeks to ensure minimal disruption during the transition period.
- Extensive experience in wealth management, private banking, or private client operations within Switzerland
- Demonstrated success in managing complex projects or transitions under tight timelines and challenging circumstances.
- Strong understanding of Swiss banking regulations and first-line control frameworks (FINMA knowledge preferred).
- Hands-on mindset with the ability to execute quickly and effectively in complex environments without relying on extensive onboarding or handover processes.
- Fluent English; German proficiency is a big plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience managing small but highly skilled teams in operational during periods of change or transformation.
- Familiarity with platform rollouts or operational transformations within wealth management organizations.
- Expertise in navigating regulatory environments while maintaining operational stability.
