DevOps Engineer - Test Automation

Keywords: DevOps, Test Automation, Infrastructure, Python, IaC, VMware, CI/CD Location: Berne (preferred) or Zürich, with willingness to travel to Berne once per week Work Model: Up to 3 remote days per week Our client is seeking a DevOps Engineer - Test Automation to join their high-security unit based in Bern (or Zürich). This is a strategic role focused on quality assurance and end-to-end software lifecycle optimisation. As part of a specialised unit within a high-security organisation, you will work on mission-critical systems serving a national infrastructure.

You will:

• Drive test automation and quality improvements across development pipelines
• Contribute to the full software lifecycle: from design to deployment
• Optimise testing frameworks and tooling in a highly regulated, secure environment
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure robust, compliant DevOps operations
• Work with technologies including Python, PowerShell, Bash (Red Hat), Ansible, Terraform, and VMWare Cloud Foundations

The ideal profile includes:

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another STEM field
• Proven experience in DevOps or software engineering with a focus on test automation
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Terraform)
• Familiarity with VMWare (Cloud Foundations) and Red Hat environments
• Fluent German (a must), other languages an advantage
• EU/EFTA citizenship or a valid Swiss work permit
