IT Operations Engineer

We are seeking an IT Operations Engineer to own the lifecycle, stability, and continuous modernization of a hybrid IT infrastructure in a regulated enterprise environment at a leading Swiss Industrial Firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the reliable operation, monitoring, and continuous optimization of the IT infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Plan and lead complex infrastructure initiatives such as cloud migrations, network upgrades, and security implementations from concept through rollout.
• Secure the implementation and ongoing improvement of IT security policies, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans in coordination with the CISO.
• Support first-level operations as needed, act as the escalation point for complex technical incidents, and coordinate resolution with external partners for deeper issues.
• Contribute to operational excellence by improving infrastructure processes, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
• Take responsibility for strategic infrastructure topics and support the IT leadership team in day-to-day decision-making.
• Participate in vendor coordination, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for critical system disruptions.
• Help ensure system resilience, service continuity, and secure operations across the broader IT landscape.

Profile:

• Several years of solid experience in IT infrastructure, system engineering, and IT operations.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of hybrid infrastructure environments spanning on-premises and cloud technologies.
• Experience leading infrastructure projects and working across technical and business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues, think analytically, and deliver practical solutions.
• Familiarity with IT security, backup, and disaster recovery practices in enterprise environments.
• Strong communication skills, service orientation, and a structured way of working.
• Fluent in German and good English skills, written and spoken.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or equivalent practical experience.
