Head of IT Infrastructure – Global Transformation

A high-impact Head of IT Infrastructure opportunity has become available within an international organization undergoing global IT harmonization, cloud transformation, and organizational development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Leadership: Lead and develop the global Infrastructure and Systems Engineering function, strengthening technical capability, collaboration, accountability, and service orientation.
• Organizational Development: Help shape the future infrastructure organization, including the evolution of Systems Engineering and IT Services & Operations; clarify responsibilities, identify capability gaps, and support the development of skills and risk frameworks.
• Global Harmonization: Work closely with international technology teams across multiple continents to move from country-specific infrastructure models towards globally aligned standards, processes, operating models, and support structures.
• Infrastructure Operations: Ensure the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of a predominantly Microsoft-based infrastructure spanning cloud and on-premise environments.
• Cloud & Modernization: Drive infrastructure modernization, including the continued adoption of cloud technologies and the consolidation of selected data-center services.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Network, Workplace, Security, IT Services & Operations, and business stakeholders to manage dependencies, strengthen coordination and operating standards, and deliver consistent infrastructure services.
• Operational Resilience: Help establish robust, internationally coordinated support capabilities while maintaining service stability throughout ongoing transformation.
• Hands-On Engagement: Remain close enough to the technology to understand the environment, challenge solutions, support complex decisions, and retain credibility with infrastructure and engineering teams.

Profile:

• Background: Several years of experience leading and operating complex Microsoft-based infrastructure environments, with excellent knowledge of directory services, cloud identity, hybrid identity models, and Azure. Experience should include infrastructure modernization, cloud transformation, and maintaining reliable services across hybrid environments.
• Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead and develop infrastructure or Systems Engineering teams in international, multi-country, or headquarters-and-subsidiary environments.
• Transformation Track Record: Has led or contributed to major infrastructure change, including cloud migration, data-center consolidation, workplace modernization, or the development of global operating models.
• Technical Breadth: Demonstrated experience across enterprise infrastructure services, including server platforms, virtualization, cloud services, identity, core network services, certificate services, and infrastructure security. Able to assess dependencies across infrastructure, networking, workplace technology, security, and IT operations, and to work credibly with specialist teams on technical decisions, service improvements, and complex operational issues.
• Global Mindset: Comfortable collaborating across countries, cultures, time zones, and evolving organizational structures; able to build trust with international stakeholders.
• Leadership Style: Energetic, pragmatic, relationship-driven, and capable of bringing structure to an environment where responsibilities, processes, and operating models are still developing.
• Languages: Fluency in German and English is required, together with the confidence to operate effectively across international teams and with business stakeholders.
